As part of the continued efforts to build the capacity of Human Rights Defenders (HRDs), the National Coalition of Human Rights Defenders-Uganda (NCHRD-U) in collaboration with Civil Rights Defenders, a Stockholm based international human rights organization conducted a digital security training on July 5-6, 2017 in Entebbe.

The HRDs were introduced to digital security tools and strategies stay safe online

The training was also aimed at creating an enabling environment the human rights defenders who were drawn from rural organizations.

Like other defenders of human rights, rural HRDs also face cyber threats as they carry out their human rights work.

During the two day meeting, the HRDs were equipped with sills and introduced to tools for security management, backing up important information and ensuring safety of the HRDs’ online platforms.
